Committed to giving back to the communities it serves, Colorado real estate brokerage LIV Sotheby’s International Realty finished the year off strong by participating in numerous philanthropic activities, donating more than $100,000 to charities involved in the company-wide, give-back initiative.
“The real estate business is about so much more than buying and selling homes — itap about people,” said Scott Webber, president, LIV Sotheby’s International Realty. “Giving back to the communities we serve throughout Colorado is something we, as an organization, take great pride in. Our agents and staff are hugely involved with giving back to the community, and as part of our company-wide LIV to Give initiative, giving back is an important part of the way we do business.”
Year-round, LIV Sotheby’s International Realty brokers and staff support various philanthropic endeavors, both locally and beyond.
In September, LIV Sotheby’s International Realty (LIV SIR) brokers and staff donated more than $34,000 to support Hurricane Harvey relief efforts in conjunction with The American Red Cross. Donations helped pay to transport more than 3,000 Red Cross disaster workers to Texas, and for more than 190 emergency response vehicles to help deliver meals and supplies, among many other relief efforts.
In October, LIV Sotheby’s International Realty announced that five homes had been built for a community in need in rural Mexico, based on the contributions of its agents to New Story, a 501c3 non-profit organization supported by Sotheby’s International Realty affiliates around the world.
New Story announced its efforts to aid the Mexican community at the Sotheby’s International Realty Global Networking Event that took place in Las Vegas in September, where a commitment to build 125 homes — an entire neighborhood — was established by Sotheby’s International Realty affiliates from around the world.
Locally in October, LIV Sotheby’s International Realty launched the 2017 Denver Designer Show House, a multi-weekend interior design event that benefited Children’s Hospital Colorado. LIV SIR has served as the presenting sponsor of the Show House for over eight years, raising proceeds upwards of $275,000 for the Children’s Hospital.
In November, LIV Sotheby’s International Realty participated in a day of giving at Mountain Valley Horse Rescue (MVHR), a 501c3 non-profit organization committed to rescuing, rehabilitating and re-homing abused, neglected and abandoned horses. As one of the only horse rescue organizations on the Western Slope, MVHR relies on the support of the local community, in which LIV Sotheby’s International Realty is highly involved, to make a difference for horses in need, and those who benefit from horse therapy, in Colorado.
Most recently, LIV Sotheby’s International Realty brokers and staff participated in the Heart and Hand Christmas Family Adoption Program for the sixth consecutive year. The program entails collecting wrapped gifts for families in need and providing them a certificate to a grocery store to purchase a holiday meal. During the 2017 holiday season, approximately 40 families benefited from this unique and generous initiative.
