Suspect in fatal hit-and-run surrenders to Arapahoe sheriff’s office

A man suspected in a Christmas Day fatal hit-and-run crash in Arapahoe County turned himself in to authorities early Tuesday morning.

Arapahoe County deputies responding to a request for medical assistance of a man lying in the roadway at 8:30 p.m. found the victim on 11000 block of E. Arapahoe Road between Joliet and South Lima streets. The man was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Just before 2 a.m. Tuesday, a man believed to be the driver surrendered, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
