My wife and I are self-employed and not part of a group/corporate health insurance plan. We started paying Kaiser Permanente in 2015 a monthly health insurance premium of $860, with an individual deductible of $6,000. Now in 2018, I’m writing Kaiser Permanente a check for $1,630 a month for the same health coverage, representing a 95 percent increase. Does this also mean that in three years I will be paying $3,173 for this same health coverage?
The cost of health insurance is out of control. Individual and group health plans should be merged so there is equality of health insurance costs and coverage. Colorado’s congressional delegation needs to do something about our health insurance system.
