Two suspects have been arrested in connection to a fatal shooting in Westminster.
An SUV crashed into a building early Friday at the Park Place Apartments on the 9200 block of Federal Boulevard, police said. When officers arrived, they found the driver and a passenger in the SUV, both suffering gunshot wounds. The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger was taken to a hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening.
On Tuesday, Westminster and Aurora police arrested Dariques Hemphill, 18, and Kerstie Lynn Arnold, 19, as suspects in the case. The pair are being held on suspicion of first-degree murder, aggravated robbery, first-degree assault and felony menacing, police said.
An investigation is ongoing.
