Re: “Trump aims at China with tariffs on solar panels, a move Colorado industry says could cost 2,000 jobs,” Jan. 22 news story.

President Donald Trump would have us believe that his tariff on imported solar panels is an effort to protect domestic panel producers. I would like to believe that most people are not that gullible. He is beholden to the fossil-fuel industries and wants us to go backwards to the bad old days when coal was king and no one was terribly concerned about vehicle, factory and power plant emissions. We need to look to the future, not try to resurrect the past. There is only one Earth and I believe we need to be on board with strategies to take better care of our small planet regardless of where they come from.
