WATCH: Shaun White scores 94.25 in first run of halfpipe final at 2018 Winter Olympics

Picking up where he left off during the preliminary round in PyeongChang, American snowboarder Shaun White scored a 94.25 in his first run in the snowboard halfpipe final on Wednesday.

White opened with a frontside 1440 into a double 1080, followed by a double McTwist 1260 into a frontside 1260.

After the first run, White led all scores. Australia’s Scotty James (92.00) was second, followed by American Chase Josey (87.75).

UPDATE: Japan’s Ayumu Hirano would take the lead in the second round, but one the final run of the day, White came back and scored a 97.75 to claim the gold medal — his third in the event.
