Writer, director and all-around comics legend Frank Miller will appear at the for a panel on the event’s closing day, officials announced Tuesday.
The “Sin City” director and “The Dark Knight Returns” writer will also be available for paid autographs and selfies on Sunday, June 17, but attendees can see Miller as part of their general-admission ticket. Panel schedules with times and details will be released two weeks prior to the convention.
Packages to meet and snag autographs from Miller start at $100 and range up to $500 for the which includes a limited-edition print, multiple autographs and a 45-minute meet-and-greet.
Miller’s up-close-and-personal appearances are limited to these packages only, officials said, meaning “only people who have pre-purchased one of the below packages can access his line,” according to a press statement. “If any remain, Miller fan packages will also be sold onsite.”
The 61-year-old Maryland native’s gnarly, noirish approach helped revitalize the Batman franchise with a refreshingly dark vision of the character in 1986’s “The Dark Knight Returns” — which continues to influence comics to this day and heavily informed 2016’s “Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice” movie.
He was a longtime writer on Marvel’s “Daredevil” and created the Marvel character Elektra, but he’s perhaps best known for directing the comic-influenced 2005 films “Sin City,” co-directed with Robert Rodriguez, and the 2015 sequel, “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For.”
Tickets for Miller’s packages (detailed below) are available on the of the Denver Comic Con website under Miller’s biography. They will run in addition to general admission at the event, which is available on the ranging from $8.25 (3-day kids package) to $82.50 (3-day adult package).
