Uptown Funk
What the world needs now, is Stoney’s, sweet Stoney’s. Or maybe just a beer, which I think you can probably get at the new Stoney’s Uptown Joint. The smaller, second outpost of the popular Lincoln St. sports bar opens up March 8 in the former Argyll Whisky Beer space with the food and drink you expect at a place called Stoney’s. 1035 E. 17th Ave., Denver, 720-485-5503;
Nori is the new tortilla
Sushi burritos changed my life, and if you haven’t experienced them because maybe Motomaki’s existing locations in Lakewood and Boulder were too far, now you’ve got one right smack dab in the middle of downtown. Grab the giant sushi rolls and bowls at its new location at Denver Pavilions. 500 16th St., Denver;
Kiss, kiss, dine, dine
Steamboat Springs just might be having a culinary moment. If you’re the kind of person who likes places having moments and trying out brand-new restaurants, then you’re going to love Besame. The Latin-inspired restaurant brings tastes of Cuba, Argentina, Portugal and Spain into one dynamic spot that, judging by the name, might be pretty steamy. Besame opened March 7. 818 Lincoln Ave., Steamboat Springs, 970-761-2561;
You’re going to want to try the loaded crab tots
There’s a stereotype about Boulder food that it’s all healthy, organic, kind of “out-there” fare. The Brickstones Kitchen & Bar, newly opened inside the Embassy Suites by Hilton Boulder, doesn’t care much for stereotypes, and so it’s serving pizza, burgers and something called Loaded Crab Tots. Don’t worry: there’s a Mushroom-Kale Flatbread on the menu, too. 2601 Canyon Blvd., Boulder
