The “” life former Colorado lawmaker Douglas Bruce  to live, according to The Gazette in 2016, before being granted parole appears to have taken another turn after the author of Colorado’s Taxpayer’s Bill of Rights was featured front and center in a segment on the TBS comedy show “Full Frontal With Samantha Bee.”

Bruce, a Republican from Colorado Springs and his TABOR amendment to the state constitution were dissected on Bee’s show this week as part of a broader look at taxes and the GOP.

Gov. John Hickenlooper, a Democrat, also made a brief appearance — mostly playing guitar.

In the roughly six-minute segment on the left-leaning show, Bruce likens himself to Martin Luther King Jr. — saying they were both freedom fighters — and delves into his anti-tax beliefs.
