Get your pen ready to fill out those brackets (you can print one out here), March Madness is upon us.
That’s right, for the next few weeks, college basketball is here to dominate the sports landscape. With Sunday’s, um, , we now know the 68 teams competing for the coveted national championship. Here’s a breakdown of the West, Midwest, South and East regional brackets.
It was a rough season for Colorado’s men’s programs as the Centennial State was shut out from the NCAA Tournament for the second straight year. But with CU’s talented underclassmen and DU’s and UNC’s bright, young coaches, there are glimmers of hope for the future. As for Colorado State, the Rams need to work on getting a new coach first.
But Colorado’s presence will be felt in the tourney, from former Regis Jesuit guard Josh Perkins leading the Gonzaga Bulldogs to former Denver East star Ronnie Harrell lighting it up for Creighton. And over on the women’s side, history is being made as the Northern Colorado Bears are making their first-ever Division I tournament appearance after finishing with a 26-6 record and winning the Big Sky Conference Tournament. The women’s bracket will be unveiled later today on ESPN.
So take a breath, figure out which No. 12 seeds are going to topple those No. 5 seeds (here’s a list of some potential deep sleepers) and get ready for nonstop college hoops, baby!
