According to media reports, former Trump campaign consultant Cambridge Analytica used data inappropriately obtained from roughly 50 million Facebook users to try to influence elections.

So companies are taking data and trying to persuade people to vote or buy a certain way. Big deal. Nothing new here, except now the media is electronic, not paper. Companies, editors, marketing firms, etc., have always tried to create “informational dominance” to encourage specific actions.

Have Americans become so sheeplike that one source of information is all they go to? If so, we are in deep trouble.

Whatever happened to people thinking for themselves?
