Colorado Springs firefighters put out two grass fires south of the city along Colorado 115 on Sunday afternoon, and police caught a man accused of starting them.
The police said Arthur Rudd has been arrested and faces arson charges.
Witnesses notified authorities just before 1 p.m. and identified a man near Cheyenne Mountain Boulevard, police said. And investigators apparently were able to connect Rudd to both fires. Dry conditions have created the potential for fires to spread swiftly near homes.
