An airplane that departed from Erie and was due to land in Utah on Monday morning never arrived at its destination, leading the Civil Air Patrol to begin a search for the plane and its pilot.

The plane, a Cessna 210, was scheduled to arrive at Richfield, Utah, at 11:30 a.m. Monday with one person aboard after departing from Erie Municipal Airport at 8 a.m.

Richfield Municipal Airport manager Adam Robinson said it was his understanding the plane was last seen on radar about an hour outside of Richfield somewhere over Interstate 70.

This is a developing story.
