Getting your player ready...

Keep holding onto your hats, northeastern Colorado. High winds will continue to howl Saturday east of the Interstate 25 corridor, with gusts hanging around 30 to 45 mph.

Elbert and Lincoln counties can expect gusts reaching 50 to 60 mph, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

Although the snow seems to have come to an end around the northeast corner of the state, heavy winds could send recently fallen snow blowing, reducing visibility, the weather service said.

As a spring storm responsible for recent snow and heavy winds passes through the state this afternoon, the winds should go with it. Light snow showers in the mountains Saturday morning also are expected to taper off.

In the Denver area, a mostly cloudy morning will become increasingly sunny with winds. Denver is forecast to have a high of 52 degrees.

If your weekend dreams consist of having a park picnic in the metro area without the wind turning plates into flying saucers, Sunday appears to be a winner.

Denver should be sunny with a high of 64 degrees and light breezes.

The drier, warmer, less-windy weather is expected to stick around into Monday.
