Getting your player ready...

If you’re waking up to newly-fallen snow Saturday morning, you’re not dreaming. A classic spring snowstorm is making its way along the Front Range.

The National Weather Service in Boulder has issued a winter weather advisory for the Front Range mountains and foothills through noon on Saturday.

The mountains and foothills can expect another 1 to 4 inches to fall today. Lower elevations could see light rain mixed with snow showers Saturday morning, but meteorologists predict a dusting of less than 1 inch.

The storm should start heading on out as the day goes on, changing the light snow to intermittent, scattered rain showers.

Don’t put away those winter hats just yet, Denver. Forecasters predict a high of 48 degrees to accompany the day’s precipitation. Skies should begin to clear in the evening, but temperatures should remain cold.

Of course, Sunday’s weather looks completely different with forecasters predicting blue skies, sun and a high of 67 degrees in the metro area.

That warm spring weather should linger into Monday afternoon with a high of 71 degrees and the possibility of late afternoon thunderstorms.
