The Brighton Police Department has located a toddler reported missing early Sunday morning.
Madilynn Ronquillo, 18 months, was found safe and is with family, the Colorado Bureau of Investigation said.
An Amber Alert was issued shortly before 9 a.m. Sunday that included a description of a car owned by the missing child’s mother, Brittany Martinez, of Rio Rancho, N.M.
Several people called to report seeing the vehicle, a gray Toyota Corolla, driving on Interstate 25 through the north Denver metro area, according to CSP spokesman Sgt. Rob Madden.
A CSP trooper recognized the name of the girl’s mother and associated her with a known contact, Madden said.
The trooper was able to reach Martinez on the phone. Troopers then made contact with the mother and child at about 10:20 a.m. The child was not injured, and the Amber Alert was canceled.
