Getting your player ready...

Throw on a pair of shorts, smear some sunscreen on your face and relish in the vitamin D euphoria that will be the Front Range this weekend.

Temperatures will be warm. Clouds should be scarce. Spirits should soar as spring weather has sprung in Denver.

On Saturday, the National Weather Service in Boulder predicts a high of 78 degrees — no, the birds chirping are not a figment of your imagination — with the caveat of a 10 percent chance of thunderstorms possible after 5 p.m.

Late in the afternoon, scattered showers over the mountains and foothills could produce some wind along the plains, as well. Gusts should clear along with the skies as the day rolls on.

On Sunday, meteorologists expect a high of 80 degrees and mostly sunny skies.

Find a pool. Find a shade tree. Find a big glass of something refreshing on ice.

Take advantage of these conditions while you can because as the week unfolds, meteorologists expect work days brimming with rain and thunderstorms.

While Monday still looks dreamy with sunshine and a high of 72 degrees, a chance of showers starts creeping in Tuesday and lingering around Wednesday when temperatures drop to a high of 56 degrees.
