Denver breaks record high temperature set in 1991

Meteorologists expect the temperature to climb even higher Thursday

officially broke a record high when temperatures reached 87 degrees at Denver International Airport at 12:30 p.m.

The previous record high of 86 degrees was set in 1991, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder.

As the sun continues to beat down and locals fondly remember the weekend of spring weather they were able to enjoy, meteorologists expect temperatures to climb even higher — at least by a couple degrees — as the afternoon continues.
