Broncos general manager John Elway is sitting in a tie for 45th place at the Colorado Senior Open at Green Valley Ranch Golf Course after shooting a 1-over-par 73 during Wednesday’s opening round.
Elway is seven strokes behind clubhouse leaders Jeff Gallagher, Skip Kendall and Mike Grob, who are in a three-way tie at 6 under.
Forty four players shot even par or better Wednesday.
Following Thursday’s round, a cut will be made with the top 55 players advance to Friday’s final round and a share of the $50,000 purse. The tournamentap winner will be invited to the Colorado Open, which runs July 26-29.
