A 72-year-old record could fall Tuesday as temperatures are expected to reach the mid-90s.
The high temperature back in 1946 was 95 degrees.
On Tuesday, the high is expected to reach 94 degrees, according to the National Weather Service in Boulder. The normal high temperature for this time of the year is 79 degrees.
Southwest winds will gust up to a high of 18 mph, forecasters say. There is a 10 percent chance of rain showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m., the NWS says.

The chance for rain increases on Wednesday afternoon to 20 percent, when the high temperature will be around 90 degrees.
Afternoon thunderstorms and rain are also possible on Thursday, when the high temperature will be around 91 degrees.
It will remain hot Friday and through the weekend with temperatures climbing to the lower 90s each day.
