After biding their time for nearly 8 months, Larimer County Sheriff’s Office deputies arrested a wanted man Sunday who reportedly had eluded capture by hiding in the mountains.

According to a release from Sheriff’s Office spokesman David Moore and arrest records, deputies arrested 30-year-old Cayne Trevin Lucia at a home at 2975 Whale Rock Road in Bellvue.

Lucia was wanted for a laundry list of warrants and charges after an attempted arrest on Oct. 19, 2017.

The previous day, Oct. 18, he had evaded a search warrant, which targeted a Bellvue home in the 100 block of Canyon Gulch Court, according to the release. He reportedly used his “knowledge of the rough terrain” to escape into the mountains.

One day before that search, Lucia allegedly attempted to assault deputies in a vehicle and then escaped.
