Thieves drag Colorado Springs homeowner behind SUV for hundreds of yards

A Colorado Springs homeowner was injured late Wednesday night after he leapt onto his SUV as thieves drove it away was dragged for hundreds of yards.

The victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries, according to a Colorado Springs police report.

Police are trying to identify several thieves who stole the grey Jeep Liberty out of the victim’s garage in the 6000 block of Revelstoke Drive.

The burglary happened just before midnight.

As the thieves drove east on Revelstoke, one of the residents confronted them and leapt onto the back of the SUV and hung on while they were dragged for several hundred yards.

The victim fell from the back to the Jeep when the thieves turned south on Wolf Center Drive.
