A woman who says she was bitten by bedbugs while staying at a Loveland hotel has filed complaints with the Better Business Bureau and the Larimer County Department of Health and Environment.

Cassandra Sewald said Tuesday that she wants her money back for her four-night stay at Travelodge and assurances that the hotel will take care of any problems — something she said she didn’t get when she called to complain a day after checking out.

The hotel is following corporate procedure to look into the complaint, which has not yet been confirmed, and officials will contact Sewald as soon as that procedure is complete, Amora Glover, general manager, said when reached at the hotel Wednesday.

In the meantime, the room rented by Sewald will not be used, Glover said.

“It was out of order instantly — no ifs, ands or buts,” said Glover, adding that bedbugs have not been confirmed. “Even if it is an educated guess. Better safe than sorry.”

Sewald, a Fort Collins woman, checked into the Loveland establishment on May 29, paying for four days, to cover time between when she left her apartment and moved into her new home.
