Oakwood Homes has a grand opening Sunday, July 1, for two all-new models at master-planned Reunion that pack exceptional size and value, at a time when rising prices are making those commodities rare.

If you like the looks of Oakwood’s new Vista Pointe collection, you can contract on a roomy ranch with a main-floor study, over 2,500 square feet of finished space plus a full-wide three-car garage, for $461,000 — almost $80,000 less than the average single-family home price in the Denver area in May.

Oakwood has two advantages in delivering that kind of value. It is the master-developer of 2,500-acre Reunion, 4.5 miles west of DIA, where it is opening a new neighborhood for these Vista Pointe designs.

But Oakwood is also a pioneer in technology that makes homes sounder and more energy-efficient, while bringing down the price per foot. You’ll see two imaginative layouts that showcase Oakwood’s creativity — but you’ll never notice that the walls, floors and truss-joists were assembled in controlled environments off-site, cutting costs and allowing them to fit tighter.

At Reunion (where you can register to win a tablet Sunday, July 1), Oakwood already has two sales in advance of the grand opening, and has a grand-opening incentive on Vista Pointe designs exceeding $11,000 in value, bringing the cost of that big ranch with a three-car garage lower still.

You’ll tour the two models, directly across from 52-acre Reunion Park, where residents have lakes and a 21,000-square-foot rec center with a resort-style pool — and where Oakwood is readying to open a lakeside coffee house this month (Vista Pointe residents get full access to all of Reunion’s 150 acres of parks and trails).

During your tour, you’ll meet Oakwood’s Jamie Zimmerman and April Black, who can show you the new neighborhood of larger sites for Vista Pointe designs, a half mile south of 104th on Walden Street.

One of those models is a Palmer Ranch — a master suite and study on the main level, and a “Smart Space” upstairs that shows an option for a third guest bedroom. Oakwood’s sites for Vista Pointe can accommodate a full-wide three-car garage, something Zimmerman says is a coveted option on larger homes like these.

You’ll also see finished space on a basement level — something that Oakwood anticipates a number of buyers will want — capable of taking the finished size of a ranch like this to 3,279 square feet, and other family-sized homes in the collection to as many as eight bedrooms.

Of course, all homes get Oakwood’s energy package that allows your energy bill to be guaranteed for the first two years of ownership, and Home IQ technology, letting you check on a caller at the front door from your smartphone.

From Peña Boulevard, take Tower north to 104th, then west a half mile; or if coming from Thornton, take 104th east past U.S. 85 about 5 miles.
