The Arapahoe County fire that burned more than 100 acres and caused evacuations has been fully contained, fire officials confirmed Wednesday.
South Metro Fire Rescue said the fire was accidentally started from agricultural equipment in the 5400 block of South Tom Bay Road about 8 miles south of the Front Range Airport.
The fire burned 108 acres, and all homes and animals nearby were safe from flames, fire crews said.

The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office said structures in the area were threatened. Deputies went door-to-door alerting people about the mandatory evacuations in place around a quarter-mile radius from the 5400 block of South Tom Bay Court.
The evacuation point was at the Arapahoe County Eastern Service Center at 4405 South County Road 129 in Bennett.
As of 3:30 p.m., 80 to 100 acres were burned, and the fire was 90 percent contained. No structures have been damaged, and no people or animals have been injured. Crews will remain on scene for several hours putting out hot spots.
Fifteen agencies, one helicopter and about 100 people responded to the fire.

Tom Bay Road was closed in both directions. The sheriff’s deputies asked commuters to avoid the area or re-route.
