The Boulder County District Attorney’s Office has asked that convicted rapist Christopher Lawyer be sent back to prison after alleged violations in California have brought the court-designated “sexually violent predator” back to Colorado.

Lawyer, 43, was extradited to Colorado in early July and is being held in the Washington County Jail in Akron while he awaits a parole revocation hearing Monday.

Before the hearing, Boulder County Chief Trial Deputy Caryn Datz wrote a letter to the parole board asking that it revoke Lawyer’s parole.

“The parole board is now faced with a man who has violated parole in the past, in the most concerning manner possible: with repeated conduct that is sexual in nature, in direct violation of the conditions of his parole,” Datz wrote. “He now seeks to return to a scared and outraged community, following his nearly immediate and significant failure to comply with parole conditions in California.
