A teen fatally shot during an encounter with the El Paso County sheriff’s SWAT team Sunday has been identified.

William Bacorn, 18, was shot in the 19000 block of Loop Road, according to a news release. The sheriff’s office said Bacorn was armed at the time of the shooting.

Deputies were called to the home on a report of suspected drug-related activity, the sheriff’s office said.

“As the SWAT deputies entered a structure … they encountered a male suspect armed with a firearm,” the sheriff’s office said.

Shots were fired, and a deputy was wounded. The deputy was treated at a hospital and released.

“The suspect was killed,” the sheriff’s office said. There were no other injuries at the scene.

An investigation is ongoing.
