An 18-year-old was arrested this week on suspicion of murder in a man’s shooting death at Russell Square Park on Easter, the Denver Police Department said Thursday.
was arrested Wednesday in connection with the death of 18-year-old Pharrow Ware on April 5, Denver police said in a news release.
Ware was one of two people killed at the park at East 37th Avenue and Vine Street in the city’s Cole neighborhood on Easter. Sharon Ware, 43, was also fatally shot at the park.
Wilford is not charged in her death. Denver police previously said they had identified a 34-year-old man suspected of killing Sharon Ware, but he was not charged with murder because the Denver District Attorney’s Office found there was “no reasonable likelihood of conviction.”
Wilford is in custody at the Downtown Detention Center, according to jail records. Denver police on Thursday said his arrest affidavit was sealed.
