A woman killed in a hot air balloon crash has been idenfitied as Dana Joyce Haskell, 73, of Nebraska.

The balloon, operated by Colorado Hot Air Balloon Rides, had a hard landing on High Chaparral Road outside of Hartsel Friday morning, according to the Park County Sheriff’s Office. It was descending for its scheduled landing when the envelope (balloon portion) collapsed.

Investigators from the Federal Aviation Administration, National Transportation Safety Board and county officials are working to figure out how that happened.

Eleven people were on board at the time, including two balloon pilots. Another woman suffered minor injuries.

Haskell was flown to Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs where she later died.
