Two of the top flyweights in Ultimate Fighting Championship are headed for a showdown in Denver.
No. 3 Joseph Benavidez will take on No. 4 Ray Borg at the Nov. 10 UFC Fight Night card at the Pepsi Center.
Benvidez (25-5) was riding a six-match winning streak before losing to Sergio Pettis at UFC 225 in June. Among his victories is a December 2016 unanimous decision over newly crowned flyweight champion Henry Cejudo, a two-time Colorado state wrestling champion and Olympic gold medalist.
Borg (11-3) hasn’t fought since October 2017 when he lost a title fight to then-champion Demetrious Johnson in 2017.
The Denver card is starting to shape up. The main event will pit Frankie Edgar against Chan Sung Jung in a featherweight bout. Also on the lineup is a welterweight bout between Colorado’s own Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone and Mike Perry.
The last time UFC was in Denver was Jan. 29, 2017 — Valentina Shevchenko defeated Juliana Peña in a women’s bantamweight bout to headline the show.
