Amy’s Acres and Mitchell Creek is on pre-evacuation notice due to a wildfire in South Canyon near mile marker 112 on Interstate 70, according to the Garfield County Sheriff’s Office.
The blaze forced authorities to close I-70 in both directions late Wednesday afternoon. At 4:30 p.m., The Colorado State Patrol said on Twitter that eastbound I-70 had reopened, but westbound remained closed. Drivers can expect heavy delays. It is unclear how large the fire has grown at this point.
