It’s going to be a hot, dry and sunny Sunday in Colorado with temperatures expected to hit 90 degrees this afternoon.

Skies in the metro area will still be a little hazy from the western wildfire smoke. An ozone action day is in effect until 4 p.m. Sunday, which means people should limit their time outdoors and try to lower their own emissions by combining errands or limiting their driving.

A light breeze will be your only break from the heat Sunday, but those afternoon thunderstorms are expected to return by midweek. Expect a 20 to 30 percent chance of showers Tuesday and Wednesday.

Highs later this week should be in the mid to upper 80s and morning lows will hover around the high 50s.
