The Colorado Classic bike race kicked off in Vail on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2018, in Vail. Men’s and Women’s divisions of the first and second stage of the race started and finished in Vail Village. Fifteen world class men’s teams and 16 world class women’s teams competed in Thursday’s and Friday’s races. Stage one saw Gage Hect of Aevolo win the first stage of the men’s race. Rebecca Wiasak of Fearless Femme won the women’s division.

Stage two was the time trial to the top of Vail Pass Trail on August 17, 2018. The time trial was 10.1 miles/16.3 km. Gavin Mannion with UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling won the race and took the overall men’s leaders jersey. Katie Hall with UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling, won the women’s race and took the overall women’s leader’s jersey.

Stage three saw the men race 100.6 miles from Denver over Lookout Mountain in Golden through Cragmont, Indian Hills, Wheat Ridge and back to Denver. The women’s race  featured the Velorama Criterium with over 5 laps near Coors Field in downtown Denver.  Pascal Eenkhoorn, with Team Lotto NL-Jumbo won Stage 3 for the men’s race. Gavin Mannion, with UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling, retains the overall lead by winning the men’s leader jersey. On the women’s side Jennifer Valente, with Twenty20 pb Sho-Air, won the women’s criterium and Katie Hall with UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling retained the overall women’s leader’s jersey.

In the fourth stage, Travis McCabe, with UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling, finished first in the men’s division on Aug. 19, 2018, in Denver. The men’s race made 8 laps through the streets of Denver around City Park and back to the finish near Coors Field. Men raced a total of 71.2 miles. Gavin Mannion, also with UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling, was the overall men’s winner of the 2018 Colorado Classic race. Kendall Ryan, with TIBCO-Silicon Valley Bank, won Stage 4 of the women’s Colorado Classic bike race. The women’s race made 4 laps through the streets of Denver around City Park and back to the finish near Coors Field. Women raced a total of 34.8 miles. Katie Hall, with UnitedHealthcare Pro Cycling Team, was the overall winner of the women’s 2018 Colorado Classic race.
