Six regional community meetings are scheduled through September for people to voice opinions on the qualities and qualifications of the next superintendent of Denver Public Schools.
The current superintendent, Tom Boasberg, is leaving after 10 years of leading DPS. A three-month time frame has been established to find his replacement.
In the meantime, the DPS Board of Education has begun seeking community input from teachers, students, parents and various groups on the needed attributes of the new superintendent, board member Carrie Olson said.
“We are committed to finding the best, most qualified candidate to lead the district,” Olson said.
The large regional meetings are being held to hear from the broader DPS community, Olson said.
