Climber suffers serious injuries to face after fall on Second Flatiron

A climber suffered serious injuries to his face Wednesday afternoon after falling off the Second Flatiron outside Boulder.

About 2:10 p.m. a 23-year-old man visiting from Australia fell approximately 10 feet from the rock formation, according to a news release from the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office. Officials did not identify the climber.

The man was transported to Boulder Community Health for treatment after a technical rescue effort by the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office, Rocky Mountain Rescue, American Medical Response and the City of Boulder Open Space Rangers.
