Wednesday night’s game between San Francisco and the Rockies at Coors Field is being delayed by rain. First pitch was originally scheduled at 6:40 p.m., but the Rockies announced that the first pitch will not come until about 7:45 p.m.

The Rockies, 76-62, are in the first place in the National League West and looking to finish a three-game sweep of the Giants.

Colorado are currently a half-game ahead of the Dodgers. It’s the latest the Rockies have been in first place in the division since 1995 when the club held first place as late as Sept. 26. The Rockies finished as a wild-card playoff team that season.

A torrent of hail and heavy rain hit the Denver metro Wednesday afternoon.

A storm brought pea-sized ice, with some areas seeing hail as big as marbles, in Northwest Denver and the western suburbs, but Coors Field escaped the heaviest weather.
