Sure, Red Rocks is incredible. Now itap even better, with a new, Southwest-inspired restaurant, Nomad Taqueria & Beer Garden inside the nearby Origin Hotel.

Executive chef and Denver native Christopher Medved (formerly of the Campus Lounge, Watercourse Foods, City O’ City, Steuben’s and Ace Eat Serve) is behind Nomad’s New Mexican and Mexican cuisine, influenced in part by his own adventures south of the border.

Among the menu items: a  Melon Crudito (tied to a memory of his best friend’s mother dipping cantaloupe in chile powder) and  the Sonoran Hot Dog, an unexpected delight that Medved fell in love with during a trip to Mexico City. Among the other dishes: Chicharones and Peppers and Nomad Beer Garden Chicken.

Nomad also offers tequila cocktails and  22 Colorado-brewed beers on tap, served on a 7,000-square-foot outdoor patio.

Nomad Taqueria & Beer Garden: 18485 W. Colfax, Golden; 303-215-2511; nomadredrocks.com; Open daily, 7 a.m. to 2 a.m. (kitchen closes at 1 a.m.).
