A cougar was caught on camera briefly entering a motel at the base of the Boulder foothills before quickly exiting the building and wandering off.
Colorado Parks and Wildlife tweeted surveillance footage from Foot of the Mountain Motel, 200 W. Arapahoe Ave. Colorado Parks and Wildlife spokesman Jason Clay said he was sent the footage last week, though he does not know the specific date it was taken.
In the video, the cougar comes into view and appears startled by something, which Clay said was actually some visitors and their dog.
“Those people did a good job keeping their animal on a leash and then just going back into their room,” Clay said.
After that, the cougar briefly enters the motel’s open office door before quickly turning around. Aside from the visitors and their dog, Clay said the animal didn’t encounter anyone else during its quick visit.
