Two people are dead following a pair of unrelated crashes involving automobiles and pedestrians Monday night in Denver.
The first occurred at southbound Federal Boulevard and 52nd Avenue, according to a tweet from the Denver Police Department. The driver remained on the scene and a pedestrian was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, police said. Police later said the crash resulted in a fatality.
Update: The auto/pedestrian crash at 52nd/Federal Blvd has resulted in a pedestrian fatality. Investigation at the scene has concluded and southbound Federal Blvd has reopened.

The second crash occurred on southbound Interstate 25 south of the Speer Boulevard exit. The crash resulted in serious injuries, according to a DPD tweet, and was later reported to be fatal for the pedestrian.
Traffic update: The auto/pedestrian crash on SB I-25 south of Speer Blvd has resulted in a pedestrian fatality. All lanes of southbound I-25 remain closed at the Speer Blvd exit as the investigation continues.
