THORNTON — A person removed from a burning home by firefighters in Thornton on Monday night has died, the department announced Tuesday.
The fire broke out at a home, 11848 St. Paul Circle, around 7 p.m. There’s no word on what caused the fire.
Thornton firefighters, with assistance from North Metro Fire Rescue, encountered heavy smoke upon arrival, but quickly had the flames under control.
The tri-level home was searched, and firefighters found one resident inside. The person was removed from the house, given medical treatment, and transported to a local hospital where staff later announced the patient had died.
