If you’re thinking about taking a leisurely drive Sunday morning, prepare for some wintry conditions.
Snow is expected to hit metro Denver overnight and continue throughout the day, according to the National Weather Service.
Precipitation is likely to be heaviest in metro Denver between 6 a.m. and 2 p.m. Metro residents could see snow totals between three to six inches by the end of the day, and snow showers could linger into early Monday morning. Those in the mountains and foothills could get up to 10 inches in some places.
A winter weather advisory is in effect for late Saturday through Sunday afternoon for the mountains, foothills and I-25 urban corridor.
Forecasters are telling folks to expect poor travel conditions.
The most likely time for accumulating snow in the Denver metro will be during the morning and into the early afternoon. Additional snow showers could linger through the night and into early Monday morning.
