A man and a woman have been charged in the kidnapping and assault of a 47-year-old Lakewood man who police say was lured to the woman’s hotel room on a promise she would pay a debt — but was then tied up, beaten with a chain and shocked with a Taser over two days.

Darrius Deon Holmes, 38, and Ruby Arely Serrato, 20, were each charged with kidnapping, robbery and assault, according to a Monday news release from Pam Russell, spokeswoman for Jefferson County District Attorney Peter Weir.
The victim allegedly had loaned money to Serrato and was asking her to repay the debt, according to an arrest warrant affidavit. On Nov. 11, Serrato convinced the victim to go with her to Serrato’s room at the Crossland Denver motel at 715 Kipling St. in Lakewood to get the money.
But when he arrived, several people allegedly tied and blindfolded him, demanded money and repeatedly beat him, according to the arrest affidavit.
“During the next two days and nights he was beaten, punched and kicked. He was also tased and beaten with a chain,” the news release says.
On Nov. 13, the suspects took the victim to his house, and told him they wanted to know where he lived, “so they could get him if he called police.” Once at his home, he managed to escape and contacted a passerby, who called 911, the affidavit says.
The man was hospitalized on Nov. 13 with serious injuries.
The two suspects are due in court on Dec. 14.
