The Colorado Rapids on Tuesday added a proven MLS goalscorer to their roster by acquiring in an expansion draft deal with FC Cincinnati.

Cincinnati selected Kamara with the second overall pick in the draft from the Vancouver Whitecaps and then immediately traded him to the Rapids for an international roster spot.

The 34-year-old center forward has 112 goals and 44 assists in 314 MLS games since 2006. He is ranked No. 6 all-time in goals scored in MLS history.

The 6-foot-3, 190-pound striker had his best season in 2015 when he scored 22 goals and finished second in the league MVP voting.

Kamara, who is from Sierra Leone, joins a club that desperately needs a goal-scoring threat. Colorado just concluded a season in which they scored a league-worst 36 goals in 34 games.
