Parades are an everyday staple at Disneyland but this is something you just don’t see: Santa Claus falling out of his sleigh.
But thatap what happened during Saturday’s “A Christmas Fantasy” afternoon parade, when the sleigh apparently broke and sent him down. Luckily, like other parade performers, he was wearing a safety harness, so he wasn’t injured but was just stuck thereuntil he could be rescued. According to social media posts of the event, it looks like it happened near the Matterhorn.
A Disneyland spokesman said Monday that Santa was back doing his thing in the parade on the following day, using a different float, while his sleigh is in the shop being repaired. There’s no word yet on what caused the breakdown.

“Saw Santa almost die at Disneyland today. His sleigh broke and he was hanging by his harness.”
