Light snow showers are possible along the plains and Front Range today while the mountains could get an additional 2 to 4 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service.

Temperatures could reach into the high-30s today with west winds gusting to 35 mph in Denver and the plains, the weather service said.

Forecasters also predict a dry Christmas Day in the lower elevations with a better chance for snow Wednesday and Thursday. Snow showers are likely for the mountains through Christmas and into Wednesday and Thursday.
