Woman killed after driving truck in the wrong direction, crashing head-on with RTD bus in Aurora

Two people on the bus were also injured

A woman was killed early Sunday after driving her truck in the wrong direction on an Aurora street and colliding with an RTD bus.

The pickup truck was traveling east in the westbound lanes of East 33rd Avenue about 6:42 a.m. Sunday morning when it struck the Regional Transportation District bus head on, .

Two people on the bus were also injured in the crash, but they are expected to survive.

Police continue to investigate the crash and did not know Sunday afternoon why the pickup truck crossed into the wrong lanes, according to the release.

The Adams County Coroner is expected to identify the deceased woman at a later time.
