A funeral chapel on one of Denver’s fastest-developing streets will close and likely be sold.
“The neighborhood is changing, and itap changing in an absolutely incredible way — a lot of young families are moving in,” said Matt Whaley, market director for Dignity Memorial. The Olinger Moore Howard-Berkeley Park Funeral Chapel has its final day of business on Thursday. The company already had been shifting its business to its nearby Crown Hill location.
No scheduled services will be affected, and people who had pre-arranged services can transfer those arrangements.
“There’s nobody in our care at this time,” Whaley said. The property is not a burial site.
The location has served about 125 families per year. There is no current deal to sell the property, but it will likely go to market soon, Whaley said.
The two-acre site is at Tennyson Street and 46th Avenue, just east of Berkeley Lake Park. It is zoned for three-story mixed-use development.
