Kickin’ it with Kiz: Even if Tom Brady wins sixth ring, he’s no better than fourth best pro quarterback in history

Who is the best quarterback in the history of pro football? Well, Kiz, you are 100 percent correct when you say Tom Brady might be the luckiest QB in history. What do you think would be the results if Peyton Manning had been in New England with coach Bill Belichick all these years and Brady had been with the Colts? Manning might have won seven or eight championship rings. Itap all a guess, but the number of rings isn’t the final tell about which quarterback is best.

Kiz: I have a smart phone, which is awesome. But there’s a lot of dumb stuff in it. What Brady has accomplished is awesome. But is he the best quarterback in NFL history? Only to those who believe all games that happened prior to invention of the smart phone don’t count. My top three quarterbacks are: 1) Joe Montana; 2) Johnny Unitas, and 3) Otto Graham. Some do say the ring’s the thing.  Well, Graham won seven.

The Bowlen family food fight is enough to tick off the Pope on Easter Sunday. As punishment for the whiners in this asinine dispute for control of Broncos ownership, could we make the Bowlen kids wear striped socks every day for the rest of their lives? Asking for 76,125 fans.

Kiz: If our choices are Beth and Brittany, let me ask a simple question: Which one is more likely to put in 80 hours a week to make the Broncos great?

The recent slump of Paul Millsap has been unfortunate. Maybe he’s not worth $30 million, but he is the Nuggets’ best defender and has played a significant role in the franchise’s best start after 50 games. Millsap will recoup his old form.

Jeffrey, Rome, Ga.

Kiz: If I had a dollar for every excuse made for the Nuggets’ $30 million man, I’d be as rich as Millsap. He has contributed strong defense, 12 points and seven rebounds per game. But thatap the stuff of a solid role player, not a power forward being paid more this season than Anthony Davis or Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Kiz, you made a strong argument the Avs should trade for New York Rangers center Kevin Hayes. But a much better trade would be for teammate Mats Zuccarello. He would be the perfect second-line winger. Zuccarello would join fellow Norwegian and DU freshman Emilio Pettersen in making hockey better in Colorado.

Trond, Oslo

Kiz: Got any goaltenders in your neck of the Norwegian wood? Send one to the Avs. Please.

And today’s parting shot is a salute to the miracle of the Patriots, appearing in the Super Bowl for the ninth time in 18 years despite, as Brady insists, a team that has nothing.

Poor, scrappy, lil’ guys. Nobody ever gave the Patriots a chance! Ever! Not since the Bad News Bears or the 1980 U.S. hockey team has there been such a feel-good story of sheer underdoggism. Just wait ’til Disney rolls out the “Brady” movie in a few years. You and I will be bawling, just like we did with “Rudy.”
