Douglas County superintendent recommends teacher’s termination after Covington Catholic comments

CASTLE ROCK — The embattled Douglas County teacher whose social media posts have sparked controversy regarding the Covington Catholic incident is facing termination.

The superintendent for Douglas County School District has recommended that Mountain Ridge Middle School teacher Michelle Grissom be dismissed.

Superintendent Thomas Tucker made the recommendation during a meeting of the Douglas County School Board on Tuesday.

In a statement to the media, Tucker said under Colorado law, Grissom is entitled to a hearing and the school board will be the final judge as to whether she is retained or dismissed.
