A Lakewood man is facing a first-degree murder charge after police found his wife dead of an apparent gunshot wound听in their apartment on Wednesday.

Police responded to the Parkview apartment complex at 9890 W. 26th Ave. at 3:10 p.m. Wednesday after receiving reports of a person with a gun who had shot a woman inside one of the units.

Bruce Bagwell, 60, exited the apartment and surrendered, police said in a Thursday news release, and officers found the body of his wife, 58-year-old Teresa Bagwell, inside.

Bagwell was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder.
